The rules and conditions for using StudyFlow. Last updated: 7 March 2025.

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using StudyFlow ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time — continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

2. Description of the Service

StudyFlow is an AI-powered study companion that transforms course PDFs, images and custom prompts into structured study materials — including summaries, exam questions, study plans and quizzes. The Service is provided via app.studyflow.courses.

3. Account registration

• You must provide accurate information when creating an account.

• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.

• You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.

• One person may not maintain multiple free accounts to circumvent subscription limits.

• Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled.

• You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.

• Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact info@studyflow.courses within 14 days of a charge.

• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Existing subscribers will be notified before any price increase takes effect.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

✕ Upload content that violates copyright, contains malware, or is illegal.

✕ Use the Service to generate content for academic dishonesty (e.g., submitting AI-generated answers as your own exam work).

✕ Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the API.

✕ Share your account credentials with others.

✕ Circumvent usage limits or subscription restrictions.

✕ Use the Service in a way that disrupts or degrades performance for other users.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

6. Your content

You own your content. Course materials you upload and the AI-generated study materials created from them remain yours.

✓ By uploading content, you grant StudyFlow a limited licence to process it for the purpose of providing the Service.

✓ We do not use your content to train AI models or share it with third parties beyond what is necessary for processing.

✓ You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload the materials you provide.

7. AI-generated content disclaimer

Important: AI-generated summaries, questions and study plans are learning aids — not a replacement for your original course materials. Always verify critical information (facts, formulas, legal references) against your primary sources.

• AI output may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or hallucinations.

• StudyFlow does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated content.

• You are solely responsible for how you use the generated materials.

8. Intellectual property

• The StudyFlow brand, logo, website design, and application code are our intellectual property.

• You may not copy, modify, or redistribute our software or branding without written permission.

• Open-source components are licensed under their respective licences.

9. API keys (Pro plan)

Pro

Pro users may provide their own Anthropic API key. When doing so:

• You are responsible for your API key's security and usage costs.

• StudyFlow stores your key securely (encrypted) and only uses it to process your course materials.

• Your usage is subject to Anthropic's terms and usage policies.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• StudyFlow is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

• Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

• We are not liable for exam results, academic outcomes, or any decisions based on AI-generated content.

11. Service availability

• We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.

• We may perform maintenance with reasonable notice when possible.

• Service depends on third-party providers (Supabase, Anthropic, Stripe). Outages at these providers may affect StudyFlow.

12. Termination

• You may delete your account at any time from account settings.

• We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms with notice.

• Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Belgium. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Belgium.
